Frequently asked questions

How do I book a tow?+

Open the TowMe app or visit towme.co.nz/book, enter your pickup and drop-off addresses, pick your vehicle category, and confirm. You will see the price up-front before you pay.

How is my driver matched to me?+

We match the nearest available driver whose truck matches your vehicle category. You will see live updates as drivers are offered the job.

When am I charged?+

A payment authorisation is placed when you confirm the booking. Your card is only charged once the job is completed.

Can I cancel a booking?+

Yes. You can cancel from the app before a driver arrives. If a driver has already been dispatched, a cancellation fee may apply — this is shown to you before you confirm the cancellation.

My driver has not arrived. What do I do?+

Use the in-app chat or call the driver directly from the job screen. If you cannot reach them, contact us at support@towme.co.nz with your job ID and we will help.

How do I apply to become a driver?+

Visit towme.co.nz/drive or open the TowMe app and tap "Become a driver". You will need a valid NZ driver licence, vehicle documents, insurance, and to pass our vetting process.

When do drivers get paid?+

Payouts are processed via Stripe Connect after each completed job. Funds usually land in your linked bank account within 1–2 business days, subject to your bank.

How do I delete my account?+

Email support@towme.co.nz from the address linked to your account and we will permanently delete it and your associated personal data within 30 days, subject to any legal record-keeping obligations.
